SUMMARY
NCITE, the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, Education Center, is a federally funded academic consortium that studies the ever-evolving tactics in terrorism and researches how to prevent and stop them. While employed with them, I refined their brand to attract the general population and help disseminate the research the consortium had developed; I designed many deliverables such as social media graphics, one-page handouts, brochures, and presentations; and I expanded my UX knowledge learning Cascade CMS to maintain an updated website.

FOLDED HANDOUTS
A primary deliverable for NCITE is their folded handouts that are often circulated at events and accessible to the public in a digital manner. Working with illustrations and text, I developed a template that spotlighted the project, offered visual appealing graphics, and shared the research in a professional yet interesting fashion. Each folded handout was refined to best fit the needs of the information whether it included a table, a graphic, a chart, or specific examples of terrorist events.
DESIGNED REPORTS
Much of NCITE’s research was truncated to a page worth of information for public dissemination. To do so, it was important to articulate the research in a manner that offered the best clarity to the public as well as design a structure that allocated the necessary space for the information while keeping the page visually interesting, within proper hierarchy for clear organization, and correctly branded. I worked on maintaining consistent styles across the handouts, while also creating variety to differentiate each deliverable from the previous one.
WEBSITE AND BROCHURE
Aside from handouts, NCITE also provided information via digital distribution on their website. To maintain this important asset, I worked with the communications team to sustain an updated and consistently active website that shared information on previous and current projects, events held by NCITE, articles that acknowledged the consortium, and more. For these said events, I also designed brochures to communicate the event’s agenda and supporting details.
SOCIAL GRAPHICS
NCITE’s work and publications are centered toward informing and educating the public on how to spot and prevent terrorism as well as be transparent about the actions the government is taking to make the United States safer. As a result, having an accurate and updated social media presence is important. To achieve this goal, I designed various social media graphics on reports being published as well as events that would interest the public and students specifically.
